Chung Li-he Museum

Did You Know That ...?

  • Chung Li-he Museum was established by six Taiwanese writers - Chang Liang-tse (張良澤), Chung Chao-cheng (鍾肇政), Yeh Shih-tao (葉石濤), Cheng Ching-wen (鄭清文), Lee Chiao (李喬), and Lin Hai-yin (林海音).

  • The museum was established to honor the late Chung Li-he (鍾理和), a prolific and steadfast writer who is known for his literary dedication even in the late stage of tuberculosis. His blood-splattered manuscript is housed by the museum.

  • The museum also collects manuscripts from over 70 writers from the New Taiwan Literature Movement in the 1920s, when Taiwan was ruled by the Japanese colonial empire.
