- Liao Chiung-chih (廖瓊枝) was the first Taiwanese opera actress to perform a leading role on local television.
- She received a Golden Bell Award in 1990 for her televised performances.
- She also became the first Taiwanese opera artist to perform in the Presidential Office in 1993.
