'Seasons in Nature'

Joint International Exhibition of Contemporary Enamel Art from Taiwan and Korea

The National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute (NTCRI) has invited 30 internationally acknowledged enamel artists, 15 of them from Taiwan and 15 from South Korea, to showcase nearly a hundred contemporary enamel works at its Taipei branch. Curators Wu Ching-chih from Taiwan and Jeong Seon-hwa from South Korea together planned and contributed to the whole exhibition.

Seasons in Nature exhibition

The exhibition honors the four seasons of nature, depicting the ever-changing aspects of the world. As human relations intertwine with that of nature, humankind seek different ways as well to co-live with the environment during different seasons of the year. People often find themselves most at ease in a natural state of being, as revealed in their daily usage of expression like "it looks so natural." Seasonal changes in nature also affect people in terms of lifestyles, sensualities, and memories related to those conditions.

Seasons in Nature exhibition

Enamel artists from Taiwan and South Korea celebrate seasonal changes in nature with enamel traditions to shed light on a new wave of interpretations. Their enamel works fall into three categories: jewelry, paintings, and utensils. The exhibition is expected to bring Taiwanese audiences closer to the modern Korean enamel scene. In addition, the exhibition will bear fruits for fostering more international exchanges between South Korea and Taiwan.
