"Musemble City: An Experiencing Project for Modernity” was organized by the National Taiwan Museum to coincide with its centennial anniversary of establishment.
Co-curated by NTM and the Alliance for Architectural Modernity (台灣現代建築學會), the exhibition includes 45 retrospective images of landmarks circling the museum and the modern architecture in the old town district of Taipei.
The title "Musemble" originates from the French phrase "musee–ensemble," which refers to a place for storing memories. Curator Guo Zhao-li (郭肇立, left) noted that the city is like a museum that stores the memories of a city, and that the curated images of the exhibition tell the history of Taipei City.
A total of six spatial installations ― Urban Utopia, Modern Streets, City Nomads, Sense and Knowledge, Space Authority, and Industrial Production ― are also offered as labyrinths to present the centennial history of the museum and Taipei City.
In addition, an online exhibition and mobile application will offer an interactive experience for the public, enabling users to construct a database of collective memories through the online media platforms.
Also, a hundred dreams submitted by visitors will be collected throughout the exhibition to make a video for celebrating the 100th anniversary of the National Taiwan Museum.
