'2019 Taiwan Culinary Exhibition'

The Ministry of Culture won the 2019 Best Group Booth Award of the 5th Taiwan Culinary Exhibition for its interpretation of how culture is perpetuated by food and its curation of the artistic features of the Taiwanese diet through artifacts, artworks, and tableware provided by its affiliated museums.

Organized by the Taiwan Visitors Association and the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, the 5th Taiwan Culinary Exhibition was held from July 26 through 29 at the Taipei World Trade Center. The Ministry of Culture booth was heralded by a banner displaying "Exquisite Feast – Food, Culture, Art" to convey the underlying values of Taiwan's dietary culture.

The Ministry's pavilion exhibited artworks and artifacts from the National Museum of History (NMH), National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (NTMOFA), National Center for Traditional Arts (NCFTA), and National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute (NTCRI) to tell the beauty of Taiwanese culinary habits and techniques of the olden days.

These artistic pieces include classic paintings by late artist Sanyu from NMH, contemporary creator Li Yu-chen's prints housed by NTMOFA, and exquisite tableware developed by the NTM.
