The Kuniaki Kuroki Exhibition For Glass Art

"The Kuniaki Kuroki Exhibition For Glass Art" will take place at the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall from Jan. 20 to Feb. 8. Seven series of the artist's works, which adds up to a total of 93 pieces will be on display, including 24 pieces that have not been publicly shown before.


Kuniaki Kuroki is a world-renowned glass craft artist with 60 years of experience and the founder of Glass Art Kuroki Co., Ltd. He integrates "Rinpa," one of the major historical schools of Japanese painting, into glass made from western materials, constantly pursuing to reach higher artistic heights. Widely recognized as a nationally outstanding skilled person in Japan, he is the first glassmaker to receive official approval from the Japanese government as a "Contemporary Master Craftsman." Kuroki has won numerous awards and his artworks have been highly acclaimed globally. In addition to being collected by the Japanese royal family, the works are also collected by museums and private collectors from home and abroad.


Kuroki chose Taiwan as the first destination to kick off the touring exhibition in the hope of deepening the artistic and cultural exchange between Taiwan and Japan, and strengthening the friendship between the two nations.
