“Contemporary Dance Showcase: Japan + East Asia,” a collaboration between the Taipei Cultural Center in New York and the Japan Society, concluded successfully on Jan. 11. Featuring Taiwan’s Anarchy Dance Theatre, the two-day event was part of the New York conference of the Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP), one of the largest international nonprofit organizations dedicated to performing arts. Anarchy Dance Theatre and its artistic director, Hsieh Chieh-hua, received tremendous feedback for their piece “Seven Sense,” a stunning visual hybrid of dance and new media.
