The Overseas Residency Project is part of the Ministry's ongoing efforts in securing new overseas opportunities for the nation's cultural professionals.
Grants from the Ministry helps to:
- Partner local participants with foreign artist-in-residence programs. The exposure to new art forms and performance styles will help these artists redefine the genre of Taiwan's contemporary arts.
- Extend the influence of Taiwan's culture and soft power. Whilst experiencing the new realms of living abroad, these artists also serve as Taiwan's cultural ambassadors.
- Build professional networks and friendships. By meeting and working with art professionals from around the world, these artists will gain more exhibition and exchange opportunities in the future.
