To expand Taiwan's presence across Southeast Asia, the Ministry of Culture (MOC) launched the Bahasa Indonesia version of its official website, which is already available in English, Japanese, Spanish, and French. In recent years, the MOC has been actively engaged in cultural exchanges with Southeast Asian countries under the New Southbound Policy.
The new Indonesian-language website will introduce the role and functions of the MOC as well as provide resources and content to spark cultural exchanges between Taiwan and Southeast Asian countries. For instance, with a focus on deepening mutual understanding and knowledge-sharing among people on the ground in Taiwan and Southeast Asia, the MOC launched a grant program titled "Grants for Cultural Exchanges and Collaborative Projects with Personnel from Southeast Asia" in 2013 under the "International Opportunities" category; so far, the Ministry has subsidized a total of 111 projects.
To further introduce Taiwan's arts and culture to Indonesian-speaking website visitors, the "Cultural Features" segment presents stories on Taiwanese cultural maestros, contemporary artists, and cultural venues. Through the establishment of the Indonesian-language website and cultural exchange projects, the MOC looks forward to showcasing Taiwan's diverse culture to Indonesian audiences, and further strengthening information exchange and interaction with Southeast Asian art and cultural communities.
