Address:No. 505, Section 4, RenAi Rd, Xinyi District, Taipei City 110

The National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall will collaborate with the Taipei-based Overseas Chinese Association to hold an international symposium on human rights as part of the government's efforts to show its concern about the status and human rights of oversea Taiwanese residents.

Taiwan is a signatory of two international human rights treaties - the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations.

Scholars specializing in citizen status and human rights from mainland China, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines are scheduled to participate in the conference. Sixteen research papers on related issues in Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia and the United States will also be published at the two-day event.
