The Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts (KMFA) collaborates with Japanese contemporary designer Akira Minagawa (皆川明) to launch an exhibition titled "minä perhonen/minagawa akira TSUZUKU (minä perhonen /皆川明 つづく)." minä perhonen is a brand founded by Japanese designer Akira Minagawa that produces sustainable fashion pieces.

This special exhibition is presented overseas for the first time. At the exhibition, a total of nearly 950 items including classic textiles, clothing, home decorations, fashion croquis, recordings, and documents will be on display.

According to KMFA, the word "TSUZUKU (Japanese: つづく)" used as the exhibition title signifies the meaning of "continuing" and symbolizes the concept of temporal continuity of the brand while also connoting connection, linkage, joining hands, and circulation, a concept that conjures up a sense of creative energy that is created by interacting with things and people.

The exhibition allows Taiwanese audiences to experience and be introduced to the creativity and philosophy of minä perhonen and Akira Minagawa. Akira Minagawa hopes the exhibition will inspire memories and feel joy and happiness in everyday life.

The exhibition will run from Oct. 22, 2022, through Feb. 19, 2023. For more information, please visit KMFA's website.
