Taipei Cultural Center in NY celebrates 25th anniversary

As the pioneering overseas cultural mission of the Republic of China, the Taipei Cultural Center in New York is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a series of art exhibitions, film screenings, innovative tea ceremonies, and talks by visiting artists.

Established in 1991 as the Chinese Information and Culture Center, the mission was the first of its kind and served as a prototype for the eventual establishment of over a dozen offices representing Taiwan culture around the globe.

Marked by a special visit from Deputy Culture Minister Dr. Pierre Tzu-pao Yang (楊子葆), the anniversary celebrations kicked off on Aug. 12 and will carry on until Oct. 22. More information detailing specific events can be found here.
