The 8th Taiwan Film Festival in Australia was held at Event Cinemas in Sydney from July 24 to 27. Opening with “Daughter’s Daughter,” a film presenting a woman’s perspective on various issues, the event received widespread acclaim.
The Cultural Division of the Taipei Representative Office in Germany, in collaboration with Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar, is presenting the Taiwan Fokus II program at the Kunstfest Weimar through Sept. 7. 
Liverpool Bienniale 2025 will enjoy its official opening on 7th June. With the support from Cultural Division, Taipei Representative Office in the UK, Taiwan artist Chih-Chung Chang will be invited to exhibit his work.

With support from the Ministry of Culture, the Screenwriters Guild of Taiwan, the Taiwan Screenwriters Association, and the National Museum of Taiwan Literature jointly inaugurated the Taiwan Screenwriters Institute.

The APEC 2025 High-Level Dialogue on Cultural and Creative Industries (HLD-CCI) was held in Gyeongju. Vice Minister of Culture Hsu Yi-chun led the Taiwan delegation and engaged with representatives from 20 APEC member economies.

The Ministry of Culture (MOC) announced on Aug. 28 that “Left-handed Girl” has been selected to represent Taiwan in the Best International Feature Film category at the 98th Academy Awards.

Born in Taichung in 1992, Brian Liao aspired to be a conductor from a young age. Although he began learning music as a teenager, he said his journey as a conductor truly began when he joined the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra (NTSO)’s Youth Orchestra Camp.

In 1624, the Dutch East India Company constructed a fortress named Fort Oranje on the western side of the Taijiang Inland Sea in Tayouan (now Tainan’s Anping area) in southern Taiwan. Four years later, the fortress was later renamed Fort Zeelandia, which was the most important trading post for the VOC in the 17th-century East Asia.
