Supported by the Ministry of Culture, the Queer East Festival in the U.K., running from Apr. 23 to May 18, features Taiwanese films, artists, and writer Chi Ta-wei. 
Taiwanese artist Chang-Ching “Casper” Su presents his solo exhibition “A Dream Cast in Dormancy (Even Shadows Glow in the Dark)” at Murmuration, an artist-run gallery in Chicago, on view from May 3 to May 24. 
Invited by the Taiwan Cultural Center in Tokyo, artist Wang Wen-chih is presenting his artwork “Embrace・Shodoshima” at the Setouchi Triennale 2025 in Japan, which runs until May 25 during the spring session.

The National Human Rights Museum (NHRM) held a press conference for the opening of the Green Island Biennial 2025 at the Jing-Mei White Terror Memorial Park in Taipei on May 13.

To celebrate International Museum Day 2025 on May 18, the Ministry of Culture (MOC) has announced a series of events to be held at nine museums across Taiwan. These activities will highlight the values and appeals of Taiwan’s museums.

The National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra (NTSO), featuring Vienna Philharmonic flute concertmaster Karl-Heinz Schütz, will perform at the Keelung Performing Arts Center Auditorium on May 17 and at the National Taichung Theater Grand Theater on May 18.
Cultural Features
Located in Mingde Village, the Nantou Sinyi Township Bunun Cultural Association is dedicated to preserving Bunun culture by passing down its traditional music to younger generations. To achieve this, elders in the village formed a performing group that practices regularly.

Hamasen was the name of the first modern organized neighborhood in Taiwan created by land reclamation during the Japanese rule of Taiwan, an area that could be considered the starting point of modern Kaohsiung. During the Japanese period, Kaohsiung Port Railway Station (then Takao Station) was a prosperous hub for trade.
