Taiwan Academy in Los Angeles and CAAMFest will be launching "Direct to Taiwan" program under the support of MOC, presenting two Taiwanese feature films and two Taiwanese short films followed by post-screening Q&A for the first time from May 13 to 23.
Taipei Cultural Center in New York, in collaboration with Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan and Auditorium Theatre in Chicago, presents "Behind-the-Scenes: Creation of 13 Tongues" video series for the audience around the world from May 13 to May 23.
In an effort to promote democracy and human rights, the Cultural Division of the Taipei Representative Office in Germany, the Stasi Records Agency (BStU) in Berlin, and Faculty of East Asian Studies, Ruhr-Universität Bochum, will jointly sponsor a series of online events in May.
Ministry Updates
MOC announces COVID-19 preventive measures
In line with the stricter preventive measures against COVID-19 announced by the Central Epidemic Command Center on May 11, the Ministry of Culture has ramped up restrictions across the Ministry’s affiliated agencies and venues, effective from May 11 through June 8.

MOC launches online subsidy application
In response to the upgrading of pandemic restrictions level by the Central Epidemic Command Center, the Ministry of Culture on May 14 announced a "specific subsidy program" for workers and groups within the cultural and creative industries in addition to an online application system launched on May 17.

Minister of Culture Lee Yung-te reaffirms
In response to the appeal in a press conference on May 20 from various associations within the cultural and creative sector, Minister of Culture Lee Yung-te reiterated that the MOC will try its best to strive for budget appropriations under the third relief program of the Executive Yuan, and all performing groups, including individual workers, in the relevant sector will be eligible to apply for subsidy.

The Former Imperial Japanese Navy Sixth Fuel Factory spans a vast area, from the massive chimney of the power plant across the R&D plant, oil tanks, the actual factory itself, six fuel depots (now used by the CPC Corporation), the Naval Firefighting Pond (now Chenggong Lake, National Tsing Hua University), and the aforementioned Natural Gas Research Institute.

The main concern of the Golden Bough Theatre has always been the land in which they are rooted. The troupe has been named an outstanding performance troupe by the Ministry of Culture multiple years. Being selected for government support, the troupe will continue to promote the "Golden Bough Traveling Performance: Beautiful Taiwan" project, creating performing arts memories together with local communities.
