The Taiwan Cultural Center in Paris, in collaboration with the Manuel Rivera-Ortiz Foundation, presents a selection of Taiwanese works at the 56th Arles Photography Festival (Les Rencontres d'Arles), running from Jul. 7 to Oct. 5. 
Supported by Taiwan’s Ministry of Culture, artist Jun T. Lai is taking part in World Expo 2025 Osaka with her large-scale installation “Flower of Hope.” The work is featured in the Expo’s public art program, with Lai as the sole Taiwanese representative.
The Cultural Division of the Taipei Representative Office in the U.K. and the Garden Cinema are collaborating to present the film screening program “Taiwanese Cinema: Now and Then 2025” from Sept. 5 to Oct. 15.

The Ministry of Culture hosted the 49th Golden Tripod Awards for Publications presentation ceremony at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center on Sept. 24. This year's awards received 1,386 submissions across 22 awards in 4 categories.

On Sept. 30, the Ministry of Culture announced the finalists of the 2025 Taiwan Literature Awards for Books, presenting a total of 30 works: 10 novels, 9 non-fiction titles, 6 prose collections, 4 poetry collections, and 1 picture book.

The Taipei Fashion Week SS26 will take place from Oct. 16 to 20, transforming the entire event into an exhilarating cinematic experience under the theme “Fashion, Action!” The Ministry of Culture held a press conference on Sept. 30. 
Cultural Features
Originally founded in 1945 by the Chang family in Qionglin Township of Hsinchu County, the troupe that would later become the Hsinchu Hakka Lion Dance Cultural Association saw a decline after 1967, as members left the township to make a living due to the urbanization involving population inflow to cities from towns.

During the Japanese colonial period, the Taiwan Governor-General's Office began constructing modern water facilities in the Tainan area to provide clean water for daily use and improve sanitation. This replaced the traditional method of drawing water from streams and digging wells.
