NMTL holds book launch of 'The Guide to the 100 Scenic Spots of Taiwanese Cultural Association'

To mark the 100th founding anniversary of the Taiwanese Cultural Association (TCA), the National Museum of Taiwan Literature (NMTL) has published "The Guide to the 100 Scenic Spots of Taiwanese Cultural Association (文協一百點:臺灣真有力地景指南)." The book launch was held at the Taiwan Literature Base on Nov. 5.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Culture Minister Lee Yung-te stated that the idea of the monograph was originally proposed by historian Dai Bao-cun (戴寶村), hoping to narrate the stories of 100 places where cultural enlightenment activities were carried out in the past. Additionally, past images were also preserved, which enable the public to understand the thoughts of TCA members at that time.

In addition, the Ministry of Culture has planned to collaborate with the Ministry of Education to allow students to visit selected TCA attractions in different counties and cities so as to understand how Taiwan Culture Enlightenment Movement influenced Taiwan's society for the past hundred years. Lee added that, through such collaboration, we are prompted to think about what we can do to make an impact for future generations in the next century.

The professor of the Department of Sinophone Literatures at the National Dong Hwa University Yang Tsui (楊翠) applauded three young authors-Chiang Bing-lun (江昺崙), Lin Yun-hung (林運鴻), and Chang Yi-ning (張怡寧). "The input of the new generation and the use of their research to connect with the public are very touching," Yang said.

Historians Dai and Cheng Cheng-chen (鄭政誠) were invited to finalize the details related to "The Guide to the 100 Scenic Spots of Taiwanese Cultural Association," and cooperated with Azure Publishing to publish the book, which contains 100 landscapes, incorporating human stories, historical images, and landscape information, accompanied by a QR code linking to a map on mobile. Currently, an online version of the book is under development.
