Photography exhibition in Yilan enhances Taiwan-Lithuania exchange

The photography exhibition "Plural Sights – A Photographic Journey of Exploration: Discovering Lithuania", is open now to Oct. 15 in Yilan County. Two Lithuanian photographers, Saulius Paukštys and Marius Jovaiša, were invited to Taiwan by the Ministry of Culture, the Cultural Division of the Taiwan Representative Office (TRO) in Germany, and the Taiwan Representative Office in Lithuania to accomplish this cultural exchange.

Saulius Paukštys is well known for portrait art as well as performance art. He is one of the founders of the Department of Photography in the Vilnius Art Academy, and also a member of the Lithuanian Union of Art Photographers.

Marius Jovaiša is a photographer and an entrepreneur. His photography collection "Unseen Lithuania" was published in 2008, and has been translated into 11 languages. He is known for capturing landscapes and cityscapes through aerial shots.

The Cultural Division of the TRO in Germany pointed out that they are working on expanding the exchange between Taiwan and Lithuania. They hope the beautiful culture of Taiwan can be captured through the lenses of the two Lithuanian photographers, and then shared with their people. On the other hand, a Taiwanese film exhibition will also be organized in Lithuania this November.
