Creative Expo Taiwan 2023 successfully concludes in Taipei

The Creative Expo Taiwan (CET) 2023 ended successfully in Taipei on Oct. 1. The CET 2024 will be hosted in the ancient capital, Tainan, as announced by Culture Minister Shih Che. 2024 marks the 400th year since Taiwan was put on the world map in 1624, and Shih invites the public to visit Tainan to look back at the history of the nation.

In the closing ceremony of the CET 2023, Shih said that the Tainan city played a crucial role 400 years ago as a meeting point of culture, thus it is important to bring people here together to remember its history. The Ministry of Culture has been committed to supporting the preservation of cultural heritage in the historic city, as well as providing resources to promote research and exhibitions for "Tainan 400", the series of events that will be held to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the city’s establishment in 2024, he added.

The MOC pointed out that the CET 2023 received more than 540 exhibitors, the most since post-pandemic among creative expos. The event also remarkably increased the participation of start-ups. Meanwhile, international exhibitors from Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, South Korea, the Netherlands, and others are also attracted to gather and exchange ideas.

On the other side, the MOC also collaborated with the Taiwan Creative Content Agency to invite more than 50 international buyers and an estimated 100 professionals from the international culture and creative industry, to hold 500 sessions of one-to-one business partnering programs during the event. The total trade is expected to increase from NT$1.07 billion in 2022 to over NT$1.1 billion this year.
