In line with the forthcoming Paris Summer Olympics, Taipei Fashion Week AW24, scheduled from Apr. 25 to 29, aims to blend fashion with sports and culture with the theme “Ready to Wear, Ready to Go (整裝・待發).”
Culture Minister Shih Che stated that fashion serves as an important medium for cultural expression, not only showcasing beauty but also enabling role transformation. He noted that this event reflects the organizers’ ambition to participate in the Cultural Olympiad by highlighting sports fashion in everyday life and showcasing Taiwan’s diverse culture.
Minister Shih said that starting with this season, Taipei Fashion Week aims to strengthen its collaboration with partners in the domestic fashion industry, elevate its international profile, and become one of Asia’s most anticipated fashion events.
This season brings many innovative arrangements. The opening show on Apr. 25 will feature six groups of designers, emphasizing fashion infused with athleticism. On Apr. 26, the event “L’Histoire et la Couture” will be held, inviting the public to experience the crossover charm of fashion and culture.
Besides, throughout the fashion week, the “Cultural Olympiad Fashion Exhibition” will open and showcase various craftsmanship details of the Chinese Taipei delegation’s entrance uniforms for the Paris Olympics. Finally, eight fashion brand shows will be staged from Apr. 26 to 28.
