Global Outreach

The Cultural Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Spain was established in January 2015 as the Madrid-based branch of the Ministry of Culture of Taiwan (Republic of China).

The Division helps facilitate Taiwan-Spain exchanges through culture by working with established Spanish art organizations and festivals including the International Festival of Photography and Visual Arts of Madrid (PHotoEspaña), International Exhibition of Digital Audiovisual Art and Non-contemporary Technologies (MADATAC), and Festival Grec de Barcelona.

It also partners with venues such as Circulo de Bellas Artes to hold Taiwan-themed events and residency programs like Hangar in Lisbon and Can Serrat and Homesession in Barcelona to exchange artists and writers.
