Minister of Culture Lee Yung-te expressed his condolences over the demise of Taiwanese beiguan opera musician Zhuang Jin-cai who passed away on July 3 at the age of 87, and pointed out that MOC will propose awarding a presidential citation posthumously to Zhuang in recognition of his life-long contributions.
The exhibition "Taiwan Acts! Architecture in Social Dialogue," which is the first of its kind in Germany and Taiwan's largest and most informative exhibition of modern architecture and culture to feature the social role of buildings designed by Taiwanese architects, kicked off in Munich on July 8, with an online opening ceremony held a day before the launch.
The Ministry of Culture has teamed up with its affiliated institutions - National Theater and Concert Hall, National Taichung Theater, and National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts – to launch a virtual "Arts Fun Theatre," screening six classic film works every weekend from July 10 to August 29 in hopes of incorporating performing arts into the daily lives of the public and maintain the habit and enthusiasm of watching performances.
