In-person activities in Vancouver include an outdoor exhibition "The Lantern City," displaying Taiwanese artist Lady Hao Hao's art installation "West End Wishes," and one music concert. The virtual programs include children's lantern workshops, culinary programs, fortune-telling, and acrobatics.
The Cultural Division of the Taipei Representative Office in Germany collaborated with Museum moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien mumok (a museum in Vienna) to organize the solo exhibition "Blue Elephant" by Taiwanese artist Huang Po-chih.
Taiwanese video artist Zhang Xu-zhan, who was awarded the Deutsche Bank Artists of the Year 2020, will showcase his new work of the "Animal Story Series" in Berlin until Mar. 14. In addition to presenting his artwork, Zhang will join the workshop forum to share his creative journey of animation.

ALTA mentee selected to translate Taiwanese literary work
The American Literary Translators Association announced the mentees for the 2022 Emerging Translator Mentorship Program. Selected for "Literature from Taiwan," Sandra Chen will be translating a collection of prose essays titled "Watching-Go" by Taiwanese author Lung Ying-tai.
First Taiwanese resident artist at Spain
Ministry of Culture collaborates with Spain's art platform "Hablar en Arte" for the first time to introduce a residency program. Taiwanese comic artist Tseng Yao-ching will be the first Taiwanese resident artist at Hablar en Arte (Talking about Art) in Madrid.
MOC launches lucky draw to encourage museum visits
To encourage people to support the arts and cultural sector amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Culture introduced a lucky draw to give away collectible art pieces. Vice Minister of Culture Lee Lien-chuan and representatives of museums and local cultural centers announced the winners in a live-streamed draw on Feb. 15.

Chen Peng-yu is a marine environmental educator and co-founder of Islander Divers, Turtle Spot Taiwan, and independent bookstore Linger Bookstore. She has been set up in Liuqiu Island since 2015, observing and recording sea turtles and educating others about them with her studio partner, sparking widespread interest across society.

The old Hualien winery buildings were renovated and transformed into the Hualien Cultural Creative Park, which was designed to become a regional platform for cultural policies, a place open to artists and performing groups to hold cultural events, and a space for commercial services to boost the cultural economy.
