At the invitation of the Cultural Division of the Taipei Representative Office in German, Taiwanese author Wu Ming-yi, whose fiction novel "The Man with the Compound Eyes" was published in German in April, participate in four events from Aug. 28 to Sep. 8.
The newly minted 4K restoration of late director Edward Yang's 1994 Taiwanese satirical comedy film "A Confucian Confusion" makes its world premiere at the 79th Venice International Film Festival. The film also shows traces of Yang's career spanning both film and theatre.
More artist groups from Taiwan are attending Ars Electronica Festival in Austria this year from Sep. 7 to 11, to exhibit their works under the theme of "Welcome to Planet B – A different life is possible! But how?" Besides, Taiwan Special session with TAICCA presents immersive content from Taiwan at DeepSpace 8K venue.

Two veteran filmmakers awarded for lifetime achievement
Filmmakers Lai Cheng-ying and Chang Chao-tang have been named winners of the Lifetime Achievement Award for the 59th Golden Horse Awards, according to the award's Executive Committee announced on Sep. 1. The award ceremony will be held at the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall on Nov. 19.

Taiwanese independent project manager Hsu Tzu-yin and co-founder and creative producer of the Small Island Big Song project BaoBao Chen have been selected to participate in the "2023-2025 Taiwan Fellowship Program" of the International Society for the Performing Arts (ISPA).
Two tourist attractions in Penghu win int
Two tourist attractions in Penghu County, "Xiaomen Geology Gallery" and "Hai-Chu Dolphin," have won MUSE Creative Awards of the 2022 International Awards Associate, according to a press release issued by the Penghu National Scenic Area Administration of the Tourism Bureau.

Veteran musician Chen Fu-ming has devoted himself to production and coordination work in the Taiwanese pop music scene for many years, coming to play a pivotal role in the modern Mandarin-language pop music world. He has remained low-key, preferring to simply dedicate his energies to supporting the industry and driving it forward. In 2022, he was honored at the 33rd Golden Melody Awards with the Special Contribution Award.
Veteran Musician | Chen Fu-ming
Built in 1908, the Red House, which was originally built as one of Taipei's earliest public markets, is the most well-preserved historic site in Taiwan. It is a Western-style brick structure designed by Japanese architect Kondo Juro. Its market entrance, which was designed according to the concept of Eight Trigrams (bagua), was considered an innovation at the time of its construction.
