Taiwanese artists present their creations to showcase the close connection between vegetation and human lifestyle at the Rencontres d'Arles, an annual photography festival in France.
The Cultural Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Spain, in partnership with the Filmoteca de Catalunya, co-organized the "Edward Yang. Quatre històries taiwaneses (Edward Yang: Four Taiwanese Stories)" film festival.
The Taiwan Cultural Center in Japan has once again teamed up with Books Kinokuniya, one of Japan's largest bookstore chains. This year, the "Taiwan Book Fair" will be held at over 33 Books Kinokuniya locations throughout Japan.
Ministry Updates
Serving as a prelude to the 2023 Creative Expo Taiwan, the Preparatory Office of National Railway Museum will offer limited tours on the vintage Breezy Blue Train which will run between Nangang and Yilan Railway Station for nine consecutive days.  
Taiwanese film "Love Is A Gun" achieved a historic milestone at the 2023 Venice International Film Festival by winning the prestigious Lion of the Future award. This marks the first time a Taiwanese film received the honor.
The Ars Electronica Festival, renowned for its over 40-year history as the world's largest digital art festival, showcased nearly 50 artworks from Taiwan this year. The festival has seen Taiwan's contributions gaining significant attention.
Cultural Features
Lydia Chen, with a background in science and engineering, has devoted herself to the study of Chinese knotting. She has recorded various knotting techniques using geometric algebraic formulas and combined them with traditional artistic elements, creating numerous knotting artworks of high artistic value.
MAD Theater was founded in August 1997 and is the first professional modern dance troupe in Taichung. It is also the most representative modern dance troupe in central Taiwan. The founder and artistic director, Jesse Shih, originally specialized in fine arts. He graduated from the Fine Arts Education Department of Hsinchu Teachers College.
