Co-organized by the 36th Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) and Taiwan Cultural Center in Tokyo, a special screening called the "Taiwan Cinema Renaissance 2023" will be presented at the film festival, showcasing four notable Taiwanese films. 
The 43rd edition of the Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF) will be staged from Oct. 12 to Nov. 5. Films from Taiwan "Be With Me" and "A Girl Out of the Country" are nominated at the HIFF.
The Oku-Noto Triennale 2023 is now open, presenting Taiwanese art team Luxury Logico’s installation, "Home Whispering." Held in the Suzu City of the Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan, this Triennale is curated by famed curator Fram Kitagawa.

The ICOM COMCOL 2023 Annual Conference is taking place from Oct. 24 to 27 in Taipei City and Yilan County with 25 international participants including scholars from Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United States.

The 6th National Cultural Heritage Preservation Award ceremony was held at Cultural Heritage Park in Taichung City. This year’s awardees include Shoyoen Japanese Garden in Kaohsiung City, heritage preservationist Li Chien-lang, and sculptor Shih Chih-hui.

Nian Bi-hua, an embroidery artisan, was named the recipient of the National Crafts Achievement Award 2023 by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute (NTCRI). 
Cultural Features
Born in Kaohsiung and raised in Taitung, A-Lin is a member of the Amis tribe, one of Taiwan’s indigenous peoples. A-Lin loved to sing from a young age. Despite her father’s opposition to her becoming a singer, she would secretly sign up for singing competitions. In 2005, A-Lin entered the music industry.

The Taiwan New Cultural Movement Memorial Museum is housed in what was, during the Japanese colonial period, the Taihoku North Police Station. At that time, the Taipei police deployment was split roughly at the North Gate of Old Taipei. The area south of the North Gate was under the jurisdiction of the Taihoku South Police Station.
