Supported by the Ministry of Culture (MOC), the 19th Asian Pop-Up Cinema (APUC) festival in Chicago, U.S., opened on Mar. 20, featuring eight Taiwanese films, including "Dead Talents Society" and "Old Fox." 
The Alter Space, an art gallery in London, the U.K., is currently hosting Taiwanese toy designer Shon Chen's solo exhibition "Self Reflection," running through Apr. 13. 
Supported by the Cultural Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Sydney, Taiwanese artists Eleng Luluan and Zhang Xu-zhan are featured at the 11th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (APT11).

The Ministry of Culture held a ceremony to mark the leadership transition at the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra (NTSO), as outgoing acting director Lin Li-ju passed the torch to her successor, OuYang Hui-kang.

Renowned poet Li Kuei-hsien passed away on Jan. 15 at the age of 87. At his memorial service on Apr. 6, Minister of Culture Li Yuan presented a presidential citation in recognition of Li Kuei-hsien's pioneering contributions to Taiwanese poetry.

The National Museum of History (NMH) presents the Masters of Art special exhibition series, centered on the theme "Our Shared History, the Masters Who Made It." The series launched on Apr. 3 with "Across Generations: Solo Exhibition of Zai-Qian Lee." 
Cultural Features
Paul Huang was born in Tainan in 1990. His parents were pharmacists by trade but showed a deep interest in art and music, often taking him and his brother to performances and concerts. Huang had percussion and piano lessons before ultimately discovering his passion for the violin after attending a violin concert.

The Taiwan Literature Base is located on Qidong Street, which during the late 19th century was an important road connecting the areas of Bangka (now Wanhua, Taipei City) to Zhucuolun (Zhonglun, Taipei City), Xikou (Songshan, Taipei City), and Jilong (Keelung City).
