The 58th Festival Off Avignon in France was inaugurated on July 2, launching a record-setting 1,666 shows that have 25,000 performances within three weeks. During the opening event, the group of Taiwanese performers led the parade.
The "Tradition and Innovation - Pili Glove Puppetry Exhibition" was inaugurated at the Taiwan Cultural Center in Tokyo on June 20. The exhibition features classic characters such as Su Huan-jen and Yi Ye-shu.
Authors' Reading Month, a literary festival set to open from July 1 to Aug. 3 in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, will feature Taiwan as the guest of honor this year. The festival will bring 31 Taiwanese writers to showcase Taiwanese literature.

To build the first children's cultural venue in Taiwan, the Executive Yuan has planned for the establishment of the National Children's Future Museum in New Taipei City. The museum's architecture competition was won by MAYU architects and TOYO ITO & Associates, Architects.

The 2024 Taiwan Technology X Culture Expo is set to take place at the Pier-2 Art Center in Kaohsiung City from Oct. 12 to 27. The expo, with its slogan "Future at Play," will focus on gaming and entertainment, virtual idols, and techno art.

The National Museum of Taiwan History kicked off the exhibition "The Sino-French War: Recollections of the Se'á'huan". The exhibition showcases Taiwanese people under the rule of the Qing Dynasty often overlooked in grand historical narratives.
Cultural Features
Born in Tainan in 1928, Shi Wen-long had to work his way through school at a young age as he grew up in a slum. The valuable experience that he frequented public museums when he was a child motivated him to build a museum for the general public in the future.

The Maqaw Ecological Park is a major cypress forest zone in northern Taiwan, made up of the Giant Tree Garden, the Qilan Forest Recreation Area, and the Mingchi Forest Recreation Area. Located over 1,000 meters above sea level, the garden and its "sage trees" are preserved as a living museum of the ages.
