The One World International Film Festival, the largest human rights film festival in the world, commenced in the Czech Republic on Mar. 20. This year, the festival highlights three works from Taiwan.
"Small Island Big Song," a unique music, film, and performing arts project, is set to embark on its 2024 US tour in February. The project serves as a powerful medium for connecting the islands of the Pacific and Indian Ocean through artistic collaboration.
The Cinematheque, a Canadian film institute, is hosting a screening event titled "Are You Lonesome Tonight? The Films of Edward Yang" from Mar. 28 to Apr. 29, showing seven films of the late Taiwanese director Edward Yang (1947-2007).

In line with the forthcoming Paris Summer Olympics, Taipei Fashion Week AW24, scheduled from Apr. 25 to 29, aims to blend fashion with sports and culture with the theme "Ready to Wear, Ready to Go."

Taiwanese illustrator Jheng Yuan-chin was selected as one of the 2024 winning illustrators of the 58th Bologna Illustrators Exhibition, sharing the honor with 78 illustrators from 31 countries and territories of the world.

The Rukai people's hand tattoo tradition preserver Thaulalui Palribulungu passed away on Apr. 5 at the age of 100. Nian Chen-yu, the Deputy Director General of the Bureau of Cultural Heritage, presented a posthumous certificate of commendation.
Cultural Features
Wong Ting-hua is one of the most important documentary photographers in Taiwan. His photography career started from the trend of realism in the 1960s. In the form of the thematic series, Wong photographed the common life of local residents and a variety of scenery in his hometown Keelung.
Established in April 1994, Fembooks, founded by a group of women's rights activists and people who are concerned about gender equality, is a bookstore dedicated to championing literary works about feminism and homosexuality in the sinosphere. It aims to offer a comfortable space for exchanging women's experiences.
